The Barn

My favorite place to go and have my session with my practice models there. They are having a great time with their summer and their modelling stint. Just to experience how it is.

My color is still off. This weekend, I promise myself to learn a little more about curves and levels and colors. I really just can't eye things like I am doing right now.

HHCC on this one...what else should I do? Thanks, Peas for looking.

on my monitor the colors look fine. the only thing i might do is use a reflector to throw some light back on the dark side of her face. other than that i think these are great!

Looks great!
I sometimes add a screen light layer at 15-30%. It can sometimes make the color seem just right.

I love shadows so these look perfect to me. The color, poses, etc. are all wonderful.

I would suggest however, that you change the crop. She is dead center in all of them (follow the rule of thirds). On the top two I'd like to see her not cut off mid-torso, it's a bit awkward looking. I would prefer to see her cropped under her chest and leave less room at the top of your photo (in other words move her body up and show less wood above her). Sometimes this is hard if you are vertically challenged, I always carry a step stool with me so I can get eye level or above my subject. Hope that helps.

I agree about the comment about the cropping. She doesn't stand out as much as if it was cropped so she was on one side or the other. She is very pretty and her eyes are stunning but she gets lost a bit when she is dead center.

I think your color is fine. Maybe just work on the contrast and things will pop more. The colors don't look off to me they just need to stand out more and I think adjusting the levels or contrast will change that a bit. When I shoot images like that and I think the color is off sometimes I see how it looks in black and white. If it still doesn't pop then I know I need to work on the contrast or levels.

Hope that helps!
